About the Art(ist)
Alex Robinson was born & raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. As her mother and both grandmothers were all artists, she was surrounded by art, and her creativity was nurtured from a young age.
After earning degrees from UNC Chapel Hill and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Alex worked in the Fashion and Experiential Marketing industries. After nearly a decade in Manhattan, she moved back to her hometown, where she resides with her husband, Mark, and son, Happy, surrounded by their many beloved animals.
Alex Robinson’s original "Paper Strip Illustration" technique is a modern approach to figurative artwork. Her pieces are made entirely of thin strips of hand-cut and folded paper rather than with traditional mediums like ink or paint.
Alex hopes that those who collect her pieces enjoy the same sense of wonder, humor, and gratitude that she feels while creating them.
